Effective Jan. 1, 2018, the Sutter Health Plus network in Alameda County and western Contra Costa County is expanding to include primary care physicians and specialists at University HealthCare Alliance and Affinity Medical Group IPA.
Sutter Health Plus Plans Expansion to Santa Cruz County
Once approved, the Sutter Health Plus network in Santa Cruz County will include Palo Alto Medical Foundation and its care centers throughout the county, Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center and Watsonville Community Hospital. Members will also have access to El Camino Hospital in Los Gatos, a Sutter Health Plus participating provider since 2015.
Blue Shield of California and Sutter Health Have Signed a New 2017 Agreement
We are pleased to announce that Blue Shield and Sutter Health have signed a new 3-year agreement effective January 1, 2017. This means that Sutter Health hospitals and providers are part of Blue Shield’s statewide network.
Sutter Reaches Agreement With Health Net For 2017
We are pleased to announce that Sutter Health has come to an agreement with Health Net for 2017. Sutter Health now has agreements in place for 2017 with all major health plans except Blue Shield, with which negotiations continue.
Blue Shield and Health Net Alert Agents to Potential Loss of Sutter Hospitals and Doctors
Blue Shield of California and Health Net are two of the health plans that are currently in negotiations with Sutter Health regarding contracted in-network doctors and hospitals for 2017. Both health insurance companies are alerting agents to the potential that Sutter hospitals and doctors may not be covered in many of their health plans in 2017 if they don’t come to an agreement soon.
Continuity of Care Form Sutter Health Plans
A new member who is currently receiving treatment, or an existing member whose physician is leaving or left the Sutter Health Plus network, may request to temporarily remain with their current treating physician for certain medical conditions.
Sutter Health Plus announces expansion into Bay Area
Great news for the Bay Area—we’ve received state regulatory approval to offer individual, family and employer group health plans in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco and San Mateo, and parts of Santa Clara effective Oct. 1, 2015.
