In order to give members impacted by this change plenty of time to plan for their coverage needs in 2018, we are notifying affected members over the next few days that their current plan will be discontinued on December 31, 2017. This includes all on and off exchange members outside of rating regions 1, 7 and 10, and HMO members in rating region 7. It’s important to note that until 2018, their coverage stays the same. All they need to do is keep paying their premiums.
Covered California Website Updates for 2017
Covered California has updated and changed various parts of their online health insurance enrollment website for 2017. These changes, launched with the release of the CalHEERS 16.9 build, will affect new enrollments and individuals and families renewing their health insurance for 2017. Covered California sending out September 30, 2015 termination notices
Pre-Termination Notice – This notice is a follow up request to resubmit eligibility documentation to Covered California. Members that receive this notice must submit Lawful Presence/Citizenship and/or Social Security documents to continue with health coverage or financial assistance through Covered California. Consumers that receive this notice must provide Covered California with appropriate documentation by September 30, 2015 or risk coverage termination.
