Mexican dentists now part of Anthem Blue Cross dental plans
Anthem Blue Cross of California dental network has expanded into Mexico, offering our members better access to care. Many of our customers live in states that border Mexico. And with the increase of tourism into Mexico, it’s logical to make some dental providers there part of our network. The expanded network offers better dental discounts, bilingual doctors and staff, flexible appointment scheduling and ease of access into Mexico for health and dental care.
Any member who has one of the following dental plans, will have access to the expanded network into Mexico*:
- Dental Prime and Dental Complete
- Dental Blue Complete
- Dental Blue 100
- Dental Blue 200
- Dental Blue 300
- Dental Blue 100/200/300
*The Prudent Buyer PPO and Dental Net (DHMO) plans do not have access to the Mexico Network at this time. An assessment is underway to see if they can be included in the future.
Moving into Mexico helps close a competitive gap for us, since some other carriers already operate in the new network areas, including Auga Prieta, Ciudad Juárez, Los Algodones, Mexicali, Naco, Nogales, Nuevo Progreso, San Luis Rio Colorado, Tecate and Tijuana. Altogether, this network now includes 74 dental locations, with 62 general dentists and 22 dental specialists (endodontists, periodontists, oral surgeons, orthodontists and pedodontists). At this time, the Mexico network is not accessible using the Find a Doctor (Provider Finder) tool. But for now, you can use this dentist directory to look up providers in Mexico.
